I run a small npo, Laundry Love Santa Ana and am an Elder at a church near one of the largest encampments in Orange County.
Been very involved in lots of local gatherings of agencies and orgs through the years but definitely feels somewhat hopeless at times given the numbers have increased in the decade I've been trying to make a difference. I know folks we've connected with have experienced change or at least had someone to walk alongside them in the midst of their pain, but it's hard not to feel like we aren't doing anything when we the situation deteriorating sometimes literally on our doorstep.
