The North Alabama Conference Ministry with the Poor Operational Team will be hosting Immersion at Camp Sumatanga June 25-30,2017.

Immersion was birthed in 2011 by CCDA in response to requests for more in-depth training in the Christian Community Development philosophy, combined with opportunities to visit CCDA ministries and dialogue with experienced CCDA practitioners. To date, the Immersion has included participants from 45 states and 12 countries.

In an effort to develop community and foster quality student interaction, this unique opportunity is limited to 30 participants. With completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to gain certification in Christian Community Development.

This week-long Immersion will offer sessions in all 8 Key Components of Christian Community Development:

  • Relocation
  • Reconciliation
  • Redistribution
  • Indigenous Leadership Development
  • Listening to the Community
  • Church Based Community Development
  • Wholistic Approach
  • Empowerment

Churches, Districts or individuals who are interested understanding these eight components, which we have adapted as our philosophy for doing ministry with the poor in North Alabama, are invited to participate. These principles will guide participants as they engage in ministry with the church in different settings.

Please register early to secure your spot for this wonderful learning opportunity. The deadline for completed registrations and payment is June 10, 2017.
