This cohort will consist of three sessions designed to educate, inspire, and activate the audience for the upcoming election. Learn the current voting landscape, explore the power of our vote, engage in impactful collective action, and ensure accountability in our democracy. Whether you're an experienced practitioner or a first-time voter, you'll gain valuable tools and insights to strengthen your community engagement strategies. Then join us on Super Tuesday (March 5, 2024) for an online election watching party! Together, we can shape the future and strengthen our democracy. Join us today!

You can register for 1 session or all 3. Upon registration, you will receive a free masterclass around Voting Rights & Representation by Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner. Below you will find the goals for each session:

Session 1: Narrative around Voting

Goals:

  • Establish the importance of voting and civic engagement.

  • Provide context for the upcoming election.

  • Explore the current state of play in the political landscape.

  • Address the theological aspects of voting and the challenges posed by White Christian Nationalism.

Session 2: Taking Action

Goals:

  • Educate participants about effective messaging and communication strategies.

  • Define the roles of poll chaplains and other civic leaders.

  • Inspire creative ideas for engaging and mobilizing communities.

  • Encourage involvement in poll chaplaincy and "Souls to the Polls" initiatives.

Session 3: Keeping Your Community Engaged and Your Representatives Accountable

Goals:

  • Discuss strategies for maintaining community engagement from voter registration to the polls and beyond.

  • Explore the responsibilities and actions required in the first 100 days after the election.

  • Provide context and narrative for the post-election period.

Session 4: Super Tuesday Election Watch Party!

Goals:

  • Have fun and build community while we watch the election results come out for the primaries!
