Across neighborhoods, churches, and community-based nonprofits, leaders are working toward reconciliation, justice, and flourishing, but many congregations and organizations need trusted coaches who can help them build the capacity to sustain that work for the long haul. Community Development Professionals, a CCDA member organization, has developed a certified nonprofit development coaching certification and is offering a preconference program specifically for CCD practitioners.
The Certified Nonprofit Development Specialist (CNDS) program equips Christian Community Development practitioners, ministry leaders, nonprofit professionals, and community advocates with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to strengthen congregations and organizations serving their communities.
The program begins October 7, 2026, prior to the National Conference in Richmond, VA, and will continue with virtual sessions in subsequent months (virtual meeting schedule to be determined at the preconference event).
You will receive in-person instruction and cohort-style coaching, along with 40+ hours of online, on-demand training. You’ll gain practical skills in the six core components of healthy nonprofit organizations and demonstrate a commitment to ethical leadership and professional excellence:
- Program Impact
- Legalities
- Board Governance
- Image Management
- Resource Development
- Strategic Planning
As a Certified Nonprofit Development Specialist, you become part of a coaching community that believes transformation happens when faithful leaders, healthy organizations, and thriving communities work together.
